I am so thankful to have a great church family that is walking this journey with me and a great work family as well. And above all I am learning to trust God and trust the good plan that he has for my life. This mornings sermon was how about Jesus called us to put him above everything else, family, work, everything and to surrender.
I confess that I am not perfect and there are a lot of things that I struggle with. One of them is lust but I know that God through the power of the Holy Spirit is really helping me to turn away from that and to walk in the authority that He has given me.
Walking in Faith means that there are a lot of things that you may not understand about God or that you may disagree with some of Jesus harder teachings but it means trusting in God and walking with him and letting him lead and change us.
I came out of a background where I was steeped in religiosity, where I believed that I had to do things to please God, where I was following a lot of laws traditions and man made Doctrine. Yet God loved me enough to call me to give all that up and follow him to an Apostolic church where I was baptized and finally saved.
I am learning to walk in God's authority and in the Power of the Spirit as opposed to just trusting in a bunch of man made traditions. I am thankfully growing with my church family as well and building strong bonds with my brothers and sisters.
Things are never going to be easy in this life. We will face all kinds of trials and tribulations. We will deal with persecutions and difficult people. But if we put our trust in Jesus he promised that He would give us life, joy, peace, and that he would give us the Spirit to transform us into his image and change everything about us.
